Improve Application Stability with Kubernetes Health Checks

Tech Talks
Tue, Nov 8, 10:00 AM (CST)

About this event

A health check is when a tool checks its components and dependencies to ensure things are working as they should. Kubernetes provides a health-checking mechanism to verify if a container in a pod is working or not. In Kubernetes, there are 3 kinds of health checks - start-up probes, liveness probes, and readiness probes. A liveness probe tells you that the application is up and running and the readiness probe tells you that the application is ready to accept traffic.

In this Tech Talk, We will dive into -

  • Health Check Internals
  • Types of Health checks
  • How to configure probes for your application
  • Common pitfalls.
